Greases are lubricants in solid or semi-fluid form consisting of a mixture of base oil, thickener and additives. Unlike liquid mineral oils, they do not tend to move away from the lubrication point. Greases with various thickener types (calcium, lithium, urea, etc.) contain additives specific to the applications they will be used in. They extend the life of the system by protecting both the system components and the general construction by reducing the wear on toothless, geared and moving metal systems, especially in industry. Greases, which reduce maintenance and repair stops, also help to increase the efficiency of production with these features.
The main points to be considered in the selection of grease are as follows:
• Working environment
• Expected temperature resistance range
• The load to be exposed
• Movement speed in the system
